EXAM STUDY LIST:FOR NEXT WEEK, YOUR HOMEWORK IS TO PREPARE FOR EXAM I. HERE IS THE LIST OF AREAS TO STUDY AND REVIEW:

1. Know the difference between VOUS and TU in French and the situations in which you would use one or the other. Consult http://french.about.com/od/grammar/ss/subjectpronouns_3.htm for review of this.

2. Study the masculine and feminine adjectives Remember that if the adjective ends in a “T”/"D", the “T”/"D" is silent and the adjective is masculine. If the adjective ends in “TE”/DE", the “T”/"D" is pronounced and the adjective is feminine. There is no difference in pronunciation of adjectives ending in “-é” and “-ée” (ex: compliqué/compliquée are pronounced the same).

3. Memorize and be able to write the adjectives

4. Review the verb ETRE using. Know all forms of the verb.

5. The numbers 0-31. You do not need to be able to spell these using letters (ex: vingt et un/dix-huit), but you do need to be able to correctly identify and write them down using digits (ex: 21/18) when you hear them.

6. Study the letters of the alphabet

7. Expressions of time. Be able to recognize the different times when you hear them (from one o’clock to twelve o’clock).

8. The days of the week and the months of the year.
